I am knitting and ITS KNIFTY

anniescupboards 1 11:37 AM
Oh Cheese Cheese Cheese. I know. I totally cheezed it up a bit. After many hours/days of trying to figure out the loom knitting, I am happy to say I DID it. I am knitting a scarf. Ok LIE. I am knitting 2 scarves. I am so excited. I am making this purple one out of thick chunky yarn and I plan to add some off white and some more purple. I want to make the scarf long and thick. I want to be able to wrap it around me a few times and still have length. I just love to snuggle in them. I am making this scarf on the round loom.

I can never just do one thing. I can't. I am obsessive compulsive. Thankfully I use it in crafts. I can never make one of anything. My mind thinks faster than my fingers will allow. I found this amazing color of yarn at Michaels the other day and I had to get it. I am almost finished. It didn't take long to do. Little cat liked this too. She was caught carrying away the ball of yarn. However I was still using it so she didn't get far. Naughty kitty strikes again. I am thinking of making a how to video for this scarf. I have seen the videos out there. Trust me I went thru them all. It would be nice if they started off from the begining and then walk you through to the end. I was stuck at several different areas and had to go to 4 different places to see what to do. Plus that $1.49 booklet I bought at Ac moore that filled in the last piece for me. Gesh. But HEY I am on my way to SEVERAL scarves. So I guess it was worth all the hassle in the end.

Jackie's Doll from my pattern.

anniescupboards Reply 11:24 AM

My friend Jackie had made this adorable dolly from my snowy (ann) pattern. I just adore how she turned out. Isn't she adorable? You can find more of Jackie's creations on ebay and here is a direct link. HERE! I missed the auction for this dolly. I hope she found a good mommy. I see she has another cutie up for sale. I just adore this dolly maker. XOXO I love it when people step outside my pattern and use their imagination.

Craft Corner Make-Over

anniescupboards Reply 10:36 AM
I currently do not have a room to myself. I have to be creative on how to store all my crafting goodies. Husband can't wait till I get my own room. HAHA! So until then I have to make do with a corner in the house. I am currently making this corner over. I usually have my green doll hutch in this corner. I moved it over where I had my Christmas tree, cause that corner was screaming I'm NEKKY! I have this wood shelf that looks like a doll house. I had it stored in my son's room. He was all to happy to see it go. hehe I bought this shelf 4 years ago and I have YET to paint it. I just don't know what I will paint it. When it comes time for me to have my own room I am sure I will have a color picked out. Until then it will stay natural.

This shelf needed something in the back. There is no backing to the shelf. That is good and then bad. Its good cause I can put lots of things in there and if I go over a bit on the shelf I don't have to worry about them not fitting. Then the bad. You can see right thru it when looking. So the wall becomes part of the look. Icky! The shelf is not flush with the wall. Even more of an ICKY look when peeking in. I remembered that I have this vintage cutter quilt my friend Melissa gave to me last year at the Prim Mart Convention. I adore the quilt so much. There are so many vintage adorable fabrics to stare at. So I decided to cut the quilt and staple gun it to the back of the shelf. I really love the look of it. You like? I will update you with more pics as I go. I keep moving things around right now.

Black Cupboard Dolls made SHABBY

anniescupboards Reply 10:02 AM

I love love how the colors are popping on these little girls. I just adore shabby. I should make more often. I also made a few cupboard dolls not so shabby. I have them all up on Ebay this week. I am going to make one of these a pattern. Oh and by the way I am suppose to have those patterns I kept promising done sometime today. If I don't dilly dolly and play. hehe

How darling are the scraps I used for the dolls dress? They are from a vintage cutter quilt.

AC Moore Craft Store has Opened

anniescupboards 1 7:51 PM

A.C. Moore Craft store has landed here in South Florida. I was really impressed with all the supplies they carry. Most of the items I have purchased today I was going to purchase online thru various different sites. How convenient for me now to have this store. A few years ago we had this HUGE craft store called Garden Ridge. It went out of business and then a Home Depot popped up in its place. YES that is how big the store was. I miss going there. Then RAGSHOP another local craft store left us. They closed all their locations last year. I was very sad to see them go. Thankfully A.C. Moore came to town. I really like the variety they have and the selections they carry. I got a few new toys today. I think I am about ready to start my felt-punching. I have enough colors to play with. I purchased the brush (they call it a "mat" but its really a brush) and now I am in search of the needle that will go with this clover brush. I have been punching on an old pillow. Well its hubby's favorite pillow....shhhhh. So now I can use the brush to do my punches on. I also picked up the clover yo-yo maker. I can't wait to make some. I have found a simple guide on looming for $1.49 and I am now happy to say I am currently on my way to making a scarf. I am not sure how my "first" creation of looming will look but I will wear it proudly. I must say if you did not buy the latest Create & Decorate you simply must. Looky at that cover. It is a "MUST have" this issue. Oh they have some really nice patterns this month. Lots for Valentines Day. They have some felting creations and some cute penny rugs. I love the rug hooking patterns too. I am telling you THAT has to be the next craft I learn. I want to learn so bad. Trust me I am so busy at the moment with my new crafts and toys I could not simply have enough time to dive into another.....Do I?
