Vintage quilt piece

I made another Housewife Skirt.
This is fuller than the last one.
It will open up pretty nice if you get to twirling in it.
I am want to make lots of vintage bed sheet skirts.
I am unable to stop thinking of new creations.
I adore the fun.
The pocket is a double pocket.
For putting things in.
The skirt is made from a vintage white crisp cotton sheet.
I love the feel of these soft yet crisp sheets.
In bed they are the most heavenly feeling on your skin.
Why not a skirt?
I found a few vintage quilt pieces a while ago and decided to finally use them.
I wanted it to be something worthwhile to show off.
I think a skirt is worthwhile.

Baby Ducks in July!!

I found this pink glass dish. I have no idea who or where.
There are no markings.
It's pretty heavy.

I really like this dish.
I purchased a bunch of doily (s). I have plans for them.
I found these cute vintage drinking glasses.
I found queen size white crisp and so very perfect for summer pillowcases.
Only one of them has a pretty eyelet trim.

SO, it seems that someone else besides the duck
(still) in my front yard are having babies.
It is summer time.
I feel bad for those babies.
That is the lazy mother.
They are so cute.
I hope she takes better watch of them this time.
Hubby is like. WHAT THE HECk? MORE?
He went and panic cleaned the back porch floor down with the hose.
Then shook his head in disbelief.
I shook my head cause there was no duck poo on the porch.
He put a little fence up to prevent them from coming in.
Spring time there was at least 12 ducks all with little
babies running around remember? I giggled at hubby.

Skirt Vintage Bed Sheet #2

I made another skirt. This one softer and more details.
Which makes me want to go back to the other and add a few more touches.

I got a bit of inspiration over the weekend.
I just love it when that happens.
I am really excited this year for creating new handmades for my craft shows.
I take pride in my creations.
They are one of a kind.
They can not be duplicated.

I call these the "Housewife Skirt".©

I used vintage bed sheets.
Vintage Lace.
Vintage buttons.
Vintage Napkin.
The pocket is sturdy and useful.

I am busy busy making all brand new creations for Stitch Rock.
I have been drawing and designing up a storm.
I can't wait to show you the other projects I am working on.
It feels like the ideas are just pouring out lately.
I am trying to keep up.

Pyrex I won't purchase

I do not even know why this is on the shelf.
There is a big ole CRACK/chunk missing from the top and its very sharp.

and with a $6 price tag?
Someone should just accidentally push it on the floor
and use it for a crafting project.
This Aqua bowl was the big bowl.
Just look at it.
If they loved it they would have taken care of it.
How could they?
IT'S AQUA.
I kept looking back at it and shaking my head.
Oh My.....WHAT? Serious?
What on Earth did they clean this with a STEEL PAD?
Come on...where is the love?
Both of these bowls were in the same store.
Both have this wicked about of brown stain color on them.
They are so faded as well.
I just walk buy and sigh and yell POOR PYREX.

Completed My Vintage Garfield Mug Set

Yes, I know. We had this talk.
No more suitcases.
I mean you try walking by this case with a $2 price tag.
Let's see how far you walk away too.

This inside is like brand new. I really don't think this got used much.
This green train case suitcase is a hard plastic.
It has a padded top that can be removed by snaps.
I am not sure why you would want to remove it. I found PYREX! A cute dish too. This is called the Verde pattern.Look how amazing. I found vintage bed sheets in the package still.
I got lucky a while back and found some cute
ones here remember these?
I am going to list too on Etsy.
They are twin size fitted sheets.
I found this piece of Vintage Art.
It says it was framed locally in a city near me on the back.
It's very 1960's.
Maybe a dip into the 70's.
I am trying to find a place for it in the house.
I am not sure it fits. I may sell this lovely piece.

I found this vintage sewing basket.
It is not that big but not too small.
I love the colors.
I found this pattern at Joann Fabrics.
They were having a sale last week
for 1.99 for any simplicity pattern.
I chose this one.
1988 GI Joe Thermos. It hardly looks used. I wished the box was there.
I found another of these Avon vintage lotion glass containers.
They came with lotion and in them
and then you use them as a soap dispenser.
The one on the left was the first find.
The new one had left over lotion from 1980.
HOW GROSS.
I about passed out when I cleaned it out.

I had these sheets as a kid.
I was so excited when I saw them in the thrift store.
This was a blanket. I left it there.
I found 2 domes. I have been wanting them for my small cake plates.
The blue one will only fit one cupcake under it.
They need a bath. They are so dirty.
COMPLETED SET! I am so happy.
Another set I have been working on was completed this summer.
I have been looking all over for the 1980's Garfield mugs
from McDonald's for the last 2 years. I finally found the last mug this week.
Look how many were on the thrift store shelf!
I also completed a set for my younger sister
who was totally eying them last time she was here.
I am going to gift them to her for her Birthday this year.

Repurposed Vintage Bed Sheet

It has been a while since I played with vintage sheets.
Oh I have been getting lots of ideas.

Today I took a few hours to dive into a project that has
been floating in my head.
I took a vintage bed sheet and
turned it into a skirt.

My slip is sticking out underneath.
I personally like it when that happens.
I just sewed a black elastic waistband to the skirt. It stretches out a bit.
The skirt is a little big on me. When I move you can notice it a whole bunch.
I did not make this skirt for me.
I have another one I am going to make and then off they go to
Stitch Rock for sale (in October). I am going to be there vending
and helping to celebrate Stitch Rock's 5th Birthday.
I am going to be offering a whole bunch of new creations at my booth.

YES a booth.
I usually do a table remember?
No more. I am no longer on the second floor. I am on the first floor.
The pockets actually are pockets.
The aqua layer of fabric is actually a vintage linen napkin.
It is sewn into the waistband/skirt. I love how it looks apron-ish.
Hello 3rd blue bowl of the summer. Seriously? Yes I did. I found another.
I can't believe it either. This is the Summer of Blue Bowls.
I love you thrifted Pyrex finds!
I finally found a small (child's?) vintage suitcase. I have been looking for one.
I have this project I am anxious to do.
The inside is all pretty and blue and satin.
I can't wait to show you!

Raggedy Ann Summer Dolls

Primitive Raggedy Ann, I love you doll.

(dig my thrifted pink telephone? ME TOO)

I made a few dolls over the weekend. I put them in my Etsy shop.
They are waiting for a Mommy!
