BlueBird Pyrex

anniescupboards 1 2:24 PM

One of my bestest friends sent me this
awesome gift.
It just came today in the mail.
I am speechless.
Bluebird Pyrex. With Lid & Aqua.
Seriously? Why have I never seen this piece?
I love it so much.

On a side note. We totally are prepping for Hurricane at the moment.
All crafting is put on stand by. Yuck.
I am going to pack all my Pyrex.
double yuck.
I really hope the hurricane goes away.

Vintage Round Red Suitcase

anniescupboards 3 11:02 AM

I was trying to take a photo for you and I was photo bombed by baby ducks.
They are so adorable.
They kept pecking my toes.
Reminder, wear shoes for more than just pecking. Poop always follows.
They are so cute when they talk (chirp). They do that often.

So Remember that store I told you about?
The one that prices everything high.
I found another vintage Pyrex dish I wanted.
I just did not want to pay the 7.99 price tag.
I popped in yesterday to see if they had anything worthy.
I found the Pyrex and said,
if its here tomorrow (50% off day) then I will get it.
It was there.

I was on my way to the linens when SHUT THE FRONT DOOR.
My eyes grew big.
NO WAY.

Vintage Red Round American Tourister Suitcase.

It is very clean inside. NEW looking. PRETTY.
Everything works and locks.
No stains. No holes.
Dreamy.
I have seen others find them.
That thrifted jealously in me always wanted one.
Today was the day.
Who knew?
It was not there yesterday.
Neither were those sheets.
All in one store?
Wednesday. YOUR AWESOME!
Left: 1 fitted sheet and matching pillowcase.
Right: 2 fitted sheets 3 matching pillowcases.
So vibrant and bright.

Pyrex Weekend!

anniescupboards 1 7:25 PM

I had no plans but to sew all weekend.
Then I texted my friend and found myself
throwing my hair up and running out the door.
Good thing I did. I found a few goodies.
I found that Aqua Pyrex dish.
This vintage flower tablecloth is pretty.
The colors I want in my bedroom.
I am really trying to make that happen.

I found these on Friday and I forgot to show you the photo.
I paid 50 cents for each bag. They were in a giant cart.
I had to dig for each one.
There were a bunch of them.
But only these were the worthy in the batch.
I am going to clean them up and use them.
50 cents. I dream of sales like that.

I said I needed more red.
I got a whole bunch of red.
4 Quarts of it.
It is very pretty and shiny and new looking.
It has some minor scratching.
I am just super excited about that find.
This is from the Friendship Cinderella bowl set.
I actually have one of piece of that set.
The yellow bowl. You can see it here.
I have two of those.
I am super super excited to have half the set collected.

I found 3 small bowls.
The pink and the blue were really yucky dirty dingy.
I said cat dishes. Which is funny cause I
have these two bowl already as dishes.
The same colors and size and fading.
I let them soak for a while and then used the magic eraser on them.
They came out so much cleaner than I expected.
The upgraded the blue bowl to food use.

The yellow is from the Citrus set.
I call it the mini popcorn bowl.
It looks just like the big yellow from the primary set.
I found this bowl and my friend finds the rest of the set in another store.
How fun. I am not even sure if I have any of those pieces.
I will have to look.

I found these and NEVER saw them before.
I am really curious to know the name if any.
The age of them. Are there any more like it?
Are there sets in other dishes?
Vintage Pyrex always keeps me guessing and learning.

Vintage Yellow Daisy Pyrex

anniescupboards 2 5:30 PM

I am going to admit I have been really lucky lately.
Sometimes it is like that when you go thrifting.
You never know what your going to find.
For a while I was not finding anything to take home.
I have been scouring the stores for sheets.
I am needing just a few more vintage bed sheets to complete
my craft show stock. I need to get to making. I have been
making but I need to get to more making.

Ok, so I found this rather large yellow daisy
vintage Pyrex casserole dish.
It is so pretty and bright.
I needs a cleaning on the inside but its rather gleaming.
Which leads to smiling.
This is so pretty. Wait. I said that. I can't stop saying it.
This is my first piece of the yellow daisy.
I am so happy it was not expensive.
I bought it at the store that likes to make millions off you.
Ok, not really. THAT Store.

I met my friend Tiffany and her adorable little girl Ava for
a quick trip to a thrift store she found that we had no idea it existed.
Sweet!
I found this divided black snowflake Pyrex dish.
Yep. I adore this one too!
Oh and I been had that suitcase they both were sitting on.
However the one below? I have no idea about that
rule I hear you keep saying to me I made up.
What? When? Don't buy anymore suitcases?
Ummm.......Yeah.

SO I found this cute little suitcase. It's not the small small one.
But it's small.

Also nice and clean inside. I have a few projects I am working on for these.
I just hope I get them done. I keep talking a lot about them
to myself and in my head I see exactly what I want to do.
I just have not even started. At all.
So many projects so little time.
I have that show Oct. 1. I need to get to moving.

I found these vintage linens.
I think the 1987 calendar will be an apron of some sort.
I do love the "emily" towel the most.
Those napkins hiding on the left.
I have 4 of those.
No plans for them. Just had to have them.
I think they would be fabulous on my linen window treatments
in my craft room.

Vintage Bed Sheet Dress

anniescupboards 5 6:48 PM

I made this dress today.
I LOVE IT.
I used a vintage pattern for the top part.
I then used my skirt pattern for the bottom.
Combine the two and Oh baby.

It did not take long to make this dress either.
I was pretty happy with that.
I used one twin size fitted sheet.
The dress is so CUTE!
I am prolly going to wear this to Stitch Rock.
I wanted to make this dress but using
Raggedy Ann and Andy sheet.
I haven't found a sheet that I like.
I get nervous to buy them online cause I am not sure
how see thru the sheets are. I like to investigate
the sheets to see if there are any holes, stains or faded spots.
Having any of those on a dress is not pretty.
Faded makes it see thru.
I pass up faded sheets all the time.
I get so mad too. Cause the print is fabulous.

I think I have to make more of these!

I have always been a thrifty girl.

I found 4 Pyrex Spring Blossom tall mugs.
They are so adorable.
I now have all 3 styles of this pattern.
That means I will not collect it anymore.
Mugs can go crazy outta of control fast in collecting.
They take up so much room too. I have to stack my other
mugs. I am unable to stack these.
I put them in my Pyrex Shelf.
I can fit these in my Keurig too. I just have to take the metal plate out.
The handles look like heart shapes? Right?

Oh completely unrelated. I can't stop saying the word:
"awesome-sauce"
But shove it all together and make one word of it.
I love made up words and this one is so fun to say.
Go ahead. Try it.

I found these vintage Pyrex plates. FINALLY!
I have been looking for them.
I check the plates all the time.
They usually have the small ones for salads
and the tea cup sizes. I have those.
I see those all the time.
Finally I found the large plates.
They were not all scratched up either.
I have seen one or 2 in the past and they were in horrible shape.
I have a set of four.
I was so excited about them I washed them and
put them in the cupboard already.
I want to eat on them tonight.

I found this square tablecloth.
It is totally cute and vintage.
It looks to be handmade.
I love the handmade ones.
The inside feels like a sheet, kinda.
The outside feels like felt, kinda.

I think it saying use me at Christmas time please. You hear it?

I found another frame.
It is screaming "make me over".

I have always been a thrifty girl.
My mother used to go to thrift stores all the time with me.
My grandparents owned an antique shop in their local town.
I have always been around vintage.
Only in my 20's did I wake up to the vintage love.
I was like Oh boy. HOOKED. But I loved really old old vintage.
I was addicted to anything from and in the 1800's.
I still am.
I have lots of Era's that I adore.
I can never choose just one.

Each Era always has something exciting about it.
The fashion, the kitchen.
Styles and colors.
The way items were made.
The precious care and ornate features.
Thrift stores are like walking back in time.
Not to mention way cheaper than an antique store.
Go and seek your little gems and enjoy them while you can.

Don't forget the yard sales and Church sales.
Happy Seeking!

This weather is not for the ducks

anniescupboards Reply 12:55 PM

We are getting some much needed rain these past few weeks.
Even if its making all my photos gloomy looking.
The bird out there are just huddled and
staying in the rain.
It is a little windy out there.
I am not sure how they do it.
Those are birds are called Egrets.

The mom duck and her babies do not like the rain.
The wind has been blowing hard too.
They were hiding on the front porch then ran under the car.
The front porch is all wet and puddles everywhere
so they can stay out of the water like Mom can.

Oh So CUTE!
It stopped raining by the time I typed this out.
They are prolly out catching bugs in the lawn
and having fun.
