Redwork Bunny Doll

anniescupboards 3 7:54 PM

I am currently making a few for my craft show. I did put one on my site. I think I am moving her over to Ebay. She is too cute and needs to be shown off. I am making other redwork goodies as well. White muslin just inspired me to do redwork.

FABRIC SWAP!

Oh Robin sent me these fabrics for those fat quarters she stole, I mean traded me. I LOVE THEM she sent too much. HEAVEN!

Red Berries & Grapes

anniescupboards 1 12:27 PM
These are almost gone. I have lots of grapes left. Fresh red berries are my favorite! I have red grapes that are just perfectly ripe and POP in my mouth. Yummy. I also have red raspberries and red currents. Want some? I just love snacking on fruit! Whats your favorite?

There is some serious sewing

anniescupboards 2 12:14 PM
There is some serious sewing taking place at my house. However, I haven't much to show you. There are 2 new bags here. The SuperGirl box bag and the floral clutch bag. I am going thru all my bags and sewing some new ones so I can choose which I will be making and taking to the craft show with me. I am partial to all, this will be a tough choice.I also did make this cell phone/camera cozy. My sidekick phone fits perfectly. So does my flip camera. However I will have to make another for the days I must take both on a field trip. I made this fully lined with the same fabric as you see. I also sewed a red vintage plastic button on there for show not use. Oh of course the rick rack. These were just all pieces of scraps I had laying around. I made this bag a little sturdy by adding some left over crib quilt batting in between the layers. Maybe I should make a few for my show and see how they do?

Twin Raggedy ANN dolls

anniescupboards 4 4:28 PM

By accident I made the same doll twice in the same doll making session and I did not even know until last night as I was dressing them. I planned on making them have the same outfit but it didn't dawn on me that they were IDENTICAL. I had a good laugh last night about it. Teddy also made the night so much fun. Twins! So exciting. And such a surprise. But aren't twins always a surprise? XOXO

There is an Online Craft Show happening

anniescupboards Reply 3:15 PM
My friend Anita from Wool n Stitches has a booth going on over at the EZ Craftshow. They are having their Christmas in July Craft Show. No need to worry about what to wear or where to park. Just sit back and shop the booths from your comfy cozy home. I really adore her flowers. She has some wool creations that you really must go see. I personally adore her creativity and her work. Hope you do too!

Profile, Cute shirt lady!

I just adore my new shirt I purchased from JCpenny last weekend. I am also happy to see my hair growing back all nice and healthy. (remember no more pink or red hair, well for now anyways) I have new fresh packets of rick rack on the bed with some barrettes. I have a few projects this weekend. (please imagine cute adorable curtains since my landlord wont let me put them up)XOXO

Stitch Rock 2008 - First craft Show

anniescupboards Reply 7:08 PM
WELL! I am IN! I have gone and done it. I am all signed up. Paid and ACCEPT! (whoo hoo) I am going to do my very first craft show. I was a bit nervous of thinking I was going to have to fill an entire booth. I will be at a table. I still feel the same nervous energy tho. I am really excited. It will be my first craft show ever. I am always looking for them and just love to be able to attend them. It will be hard seeing all the booths and knowing I have to stay still. Who will man my table? To be honest I am SO SO EXCITED! And my little dollys are TOO excited. Everyone wants to be in the craft show. So much to choose so little time. I will make sure you get to see peeks of who is coming along for the ride.

If your in Florida in the Delray area come stop by and see me.

I will be on the second floor

Oct 4th, 2008. NOON! Be there or be square!

(excited:Being in a state of excitement; emotionally aroused; stirred.)

Take a peek at where the craft show will be held. Stitch Rock 2008!

Tuesday Fat Quarter Fabric Purchase

anniescupboards 1 3:55 PM

My friend Robin wanted some of these fat quarters. I found them in orange too. She took them as well. (nuts) however I can't complain she is sending me something in return. (fabric swap, horray!)

I didn't plan on going to Joann Fabrics again. I just went Sunday. I am BROKE! I went because I got a flyer in the mail telling me the store location down the way is closing and moving a few blocks away. (bigger, better store?) Can't wait. I was lucky enough to pick up these fat quarters there. I did not have to even pay nearly what I paid Sunday. But they didn't have everything I purchased on Sunday. That store is small and carries next to nothing. I am glad they are moving down the street to a larger location. I have been hearing that some of the stores have been closing across the USA. I hope they know we are running out of places to purchase fabric?

Finally more autumn colors!! And so lucky to find more of that hard to get fabric that Robin so begged me for. (i still have my own stash of the green...shhh don't tell her.)

Sunday Fat Quarter Fabric Purchase

anniescupboards 1 3:57 PM

I had this urge to go see what was being set out at my local fabric store for autumn prints. Not really too much yet. I am sure they will come out really soon with some? I was really lucky to find some more of that fabric I like to call "pyrex" fabric. It also reminds me of Spirograph's. Remember them? I loved the designs and really must get one of these vintage toy sets myself so I can indulge in some forgotten fun.

Stitch Rock 2008 pre Flyer !

anniescupboards Reply 7:32 AM
I have signed up for my very first craft show. EVER. I have been doing all the research for over 2 years on how and what do do at a show. And I finally bit the bullet and signed up. I need to get my payment over there asap to ensure my spot. So I can't really say I going to be there until they tell me so. OH please let me get in there.

This is an indie craft show. I applied and they accepted my creative goodies. Yipee. They are not far from my house and the show starts Noon On October 4, 2008 and it will be held in the city of Delray. I know there are 2 days since they are holding it over the weekend. I think Sunday will have the same times. noon till 6pm. I will give you more information once I get it. This will be the second show they ever had. I have been hearing and reading such good things about this show and I know it will get more popular and grow to many years. Crafting is NEVER going away. Its always here. Us Crafty people will see to it, right?

I won't talk about how excited I am. Cause I really am too excited and I think I will bore you. I am crazy excited!

playing with mini sewing machine

anniescupboards Reply 3:37 PM
I blogged about this machine a few posts ago. I have not thought of what to name HER. At least we have the "her" part. Well, I have tested this machine on cardstock paper and regular paper. It sews just fine on them both. So if you are thinking of using this for paper projects/crafts I say go for it. I haven't tried any thicker paper. The needle will only handle medium to light weight fabric. Also if you jam too much of a fabric in there the feeder will not feed the fabric properly. SO you will just be sewing in place. You need to be careful when sewing for your first time. I am used to a foot pedal so I am used to having two free hands to guide my work. This one requires me to hold one hand on the machine and one hand on the project. I just have to push the button in once for it to turn on and then press it again to turn off. It does go at a nice pace. Not too fast but not too slow. You may want to sew on a few test scraps before starting your project so you can get use to the speed. You can not change the speed. I recommend you use a sturdy table while using this.

I sewed fabric on top of blue cardstock and then just sewed regular paper together folded in half. The stitches are nice and tight. I say again I am really impressed with this little mini sewing machine.

Ok, It's just for fun. I was visiting apron thrift girl and I saw she had one and followed her links on how to get it. You can go right here to FD's flickr toys and play and make one up yourself. Its too much fun. They have other fun programs to use as well. You can also PRINT these photos. Perfect for a party invite huh? I think so.

my handmade doll dress

anniescupboards 6 2:36 PM
So after looking at all my hand made doll dresses, I got this urge to make one. I wanted to try. I came up with this little dress. I have been wanting to make different styles of dresses for my dolls for some time now. However I have not been inspired till now. How genius. Make doll dresses. Vintage doll dresses Sherry. (oh!) I have a few others in mind that are screaming to come out in fabric so I will be trying my hand at those next. This dress didn't take me long to make but did take longer than the normal prim dress I usually make. I really love it. Ya know this dress will also fit a 3 month old baby. (giggle) Well it could.

found: Vintage Doll Dresses

anniescupboards 6 8:37 AM
Oh I found a bunch of treasures yesterday. I was lucky enough to find a few handmade doll dresses to add to my collection. I think I should wash these however I am too lazy to do laundry today.
This screams joy for me. First its a doll dress. Next its vintage, it has rick rack and its HANDMADE!
Just check the inside of the dresses and you can tell factory from handmade. Looky close at the stitching.
This one is vintage feedsack. (the lady at the counter asked me if I knew what kind of fabric this was..........DOH!)

These last 3 are adorable. Were these dresses handmade? I can't tell. I am stumped. I will have to go look at them again. They are TOO adorable. They appear to be handmade. There is no tag and I see hand sewing involved in places. Yes I think they are! I love how they are sheer and they have little tiny raised polk a dots all over. They will fit my baby crissy doll. I am going to use ONE of them on a doll to sell on my website. Keep an eye open!
