I finally found a train suitcase. Finally! One of the thrift stores I have been visiting has this back room I knew NOTHING about. I found a few goodies back there. One being this train case. Its not locked and it's not dirty or smelly on the inside. It has red satin in there. Its not in perfect shape. But really really good shape. Nothing is falling apart in there. I am just excited.
I found red and blue Pyrex fridge dishes. Only one came with the lid. How amazing they matched my outfit? Seriously I wore this outfit and found those. Awesome. Over the weekend while I was at Stitch Rock. My friend Amanda and Michelle surprised me with a small red fridge dish with lid. So now I got a few reds. I screamed up and down when I got that prezzy. Thank you girls! (again)
I found this long black scarf. No name. Just pretty. Its black and white polk a dot with pink floral prints. How weird is it that I found matching stuff yesterday? Weird and lovely.

Waiting for a train has ended!

I am stumbled upon a really awesome find today. This one even came in the box. THE BOX! This is called a 2 Quart Casserole & Warmer. Aqua! This holder is way more fun than the others I found the other day. I would have never known this set was complete Pyrex. I am learning what all the pieces came with Pyrex. There are a few types of holders. I never found Pyrex in its original box. I must say I got all crazy excited over the used cardboard. Yeah I am keeping the box. I know. I know. Its a box. But its Pyrex. I found a really fun blog that also loves Pyrex. She has some really fun stuff. Check it out here!
Underneath the bowl is a metal circle piece that is slotted. That comes out and you slip a candle in the brass base. There is still one in there. This bowl is dirty. Looks as if someone used it once and put it back in the box. Minus the washing. The inside is sparkling clean. Weird. Maybe they just tested it and used it for something like bread? They lit the candle and there is a little ring mark at the bottom of the Pyrex dish. But it all came out with soap and water.

My 9th grader is at his first day of school today! I am so happy I found a school that is a good fit for him. We are still homeschooling just getting help in the subjects I am not able to teach. I am still teaching History and Science. I found a bunch of used books at the thrift store to help me. My friend also told me of Half.com. Its an Ebay company that sells used books. School books are totally reusable. Once I finish with mine I will sell them there and get new ones as well from there. I had no idea this site even existed.
I found a book for me!
I am going through this yellow phase still. I found some really pretty vintage bangles. I wish they were Bakelite. They look it just don't feel it.
I love little pretty trinket boxes. This is cute and round and opens nice and closes nice. I have no idea why I had to have it. Just had to.
Its been a while since I have found worthy scarves. I found some today. No Vera in there. Maybe next time. These are so soft. The wind was trying to take them away.

I have been keeping all my vintage finds to myself lately and not showing them off to you. Naughty me. I have found a couple of yummy items this past month. I found this Vintage 1950? quilted robe. Its aqua and so pretty. I paid $4.00 for this. Its so yummy. Its a size 16 which in 1950's that was considered a today's 7? It fits me perfectly. I feel pretty ellegant wearing this. There was satin aqua covers on the white buttons but they fell off in my hand as I was waiting to pay for this item. I could put them back on but rather not.
Vintage Aqua Vera Napkins. There was only 3 of them. Slight minor stains but still lots of pretty left. I am thinking this will be apart of a project I am working on for myself. You know I was smiling when I saw these.
Mr. Bumble Bee came over for a visit as I was taking closeups. Maybe he thought the lady bug was gonna give him a look?
I found this vintage 1960's jewelry box. Its lined with red velvet. This is in really great shape. The key is even there. I have been looking all over for one of these. I paid $4.00 for this. I know what a great deal. I am going to be using this for my craft show displays.
You can buy Vera at Macys and other stores. Did you know the company is up and running again? Well it is. I only recently found this out. I am very excited actually about it. You can do some reading here to find out about how this all happened. I am still going to collect Vera. Old and new. I found these two place mats at Macys. They were in the clearance section. I paid 6 dollars for them. I am going to make them into a purse. The lady at the register thought that was a very good idea. She then proceeded to the back table to find herself some to do the same. Little did she know I took the last of the cherry print. hehe
I found two vintage scarves. Oh I have this amazing growing collection.
I found oodles of vintage patterns and most of them in my size. I really wish I could find some decent fabric around here to sew clothing.
Vintage peacock placemats. 4 of them. Peacocks are really hot in Mod decor this year and I am sure will be next year as well. I am going to list these in my Etsy shoppe. I am sure someone will like them and use them.
I found another jar. (just like the one in my banner) Woot, a set I have now.
I finally found all the pieces for the jello mold. I have one like this already just not all the pieces and well now I have a few extras to play with. I also found some small cups and dessert cups all with lids. I just love vintage Tupperware. They are really a good quality product that lasts.

I have been keeping all my vintage finds to myself lately and not showing them off to you. Naughty me. I have found a couple of yummy items ...

I found these two large vintage tin trays. They have mod 1960's prints on them. There is no marking on the back of them. There is .88 stamped in black on the back but I am thinking they may have been the price tag? They are very large.
I found another Aladdin Thermos. I have no idea why I like them so much but I do. I adore them and now I have 3. This is a large one. The others I found could fit in a lunch box.
Neighbor kitty looking for pet pet.
I found a vintage Barbie pattern. Yipee! I was excited to find this. I have been researching patterns all week and to find a vintage one locally. All the pieces are there and were cut but saved and kept in order. Its a Simplicity 8281 barbie clothing pattern. Its from the 70's. You could get Cher doll and make clothing for her too.
I found a WONDERFUL piece. Its a Celluloid Fan. Very vintage. I am not sure but this could be dated from early 1900's. I will have to do more research on them. Celluloid is my most favorite plastic to collect. I mean I go gaga for it. I think these are dyed ostrich feathers. Again I have to research more on them. I do know they are very collectible and they are expensive to purchase in an antique store.

I found two vintage scarves. The square pattern is a head scarf.
I found this adorable 1960's Mod apron. Its reversible and is just plain purple on the other side with this print on a pocket.

I found 2 pretty vintage scarves.
Vintage Star Wars Pillowcase that is going on my oldest son's bed.
Vintage Fieldcrest Mod floral sheets in black and bright colors. WOW! Very mod and so lovely they are still in their packages. These are going in my Etsy Shoppe. There is 2 fitted and 1 flat twin size. Maybe I should keep one and make something yummy from them?
I found this vintage umbrella. Its really cute. Very Vera like. But not Vera. I love the handle and the purple and yellow flowers.

I found this vintage bowl and plate set of Raggedy Ann and Andy. I do not collect Raggedy Ann and Andy anything. I do like her. I make dolls after her. But I am not into collecting her. Yet this set called me cause its from the 60's. But I am still not keeping it. This set will be in my Etsy shoppe.
