There is quite a debate (by crafters) on what stuffing is best. There is a variety of stuffing out there. I have used all kinds. I myself prefer Poly-fil brand and use it all the time. I like it. Some complain that its too "slippery" for them. Well to me that's the best kind of stuffing. it slips into what ever your stuffing easy! I like the way it feels. It expands. I like to take a small amount, separate any chunky parts and then squish it back up, stick small amounts into the item I am stuffing and use a pencil or a dowel rod. (no I don't use a hemostat) some like that tool. I never found a use for it. I like the pencil or dowel rod for my stuffing. I just keep putting the stuffing in till its nice and full and I move the stuffing around to make facial features stand out more. I find other stuffing too hard to manage, lumpy, feels icky to hold. (you know I am a texture gal) Sure poly-fil costs a little bit more. Its worth it. I love it. The other stuff does not lay nice once its been stuffed in. It will bulk up and make some parts feel lumpy. Or like a rock. Poly-fil fills every space and expands so when you go to hug my dolly you get plushy love with no lumps! I love that. So there you have it. Now you know my take and what stuffing I use.
WOW I took a whole week off blogging. I am not sure I have done that before. I had to. After my show I just vegged out. But not totally. Cause look what I have to show you today. I just sat around and sewed and stuffed this past week and it was relaxing. I just love sewing. I do. I really do. Even just thinking about sewing a project, I get all starry eyed and daydream. I am going to be listing these dolls on Etsy in a bit.
Its so hot outside. I am not sure about where you live at but here its sweaty summer weather. Just going outside to take these photos was effort for me. After the 2nd doll I was ready to come in. I had to change my clothing after I did come in.
I have been busy planning some summer fun around the house. We are going to take a couple of trips this summer. Georgia, North Carolina and maybe squeeze Disney in. This past weekend my youngest son turned 15. (insert high pitched sigh) seriously where is the time going? We took him to Rapids Water Park. It was so much fun. We have not been there in years. It's 1 hour from us. You would think someone who lives in Hot Sunny South Florida would take advantage of this park? Naaaa I live closer to the beach and I don't go there much either. HA! The heat does me in. It makes me sick as a dog. I can tolerate it in small amounts. Being at the water park was perfect cause your always in the water. I loved the lazy pool the most and this ride. Its AMAZING fast and fun and wet and scary! All the wants in my kinda ride.
This is a new dolly set. I am going to offer this as a pattern. I do not have any Andy patterns. This will be my first one.
I have no craft shows till Oct. 2010. But you know.....I will be creating. I love it so.
Art Rock 2010 was fabulous! I had so much fun. I hope everyone who came had fun. I want to personally thank you for coming out to shop/visit us. Thank you for buying my handmade creations. This is Ragamufyn. She makes THE best repurposed clothing, EVER! Her Art is AMAZING. Her handmade creations, are just so perfect. I love everything she touches. The light that beams from her is so intense.
The girl above is the one who sells/makes that bag above. I should have asked for her name. But I was running around before the show started to get some photos. I took my sweet time setting up my booth. You know how it goes.

Have you seen her drawings? Oh you have to. You must. I confess I go GAGA, for her. hehe I do adore her hand mades. Her bows are fab and fun to wear. You have to get one. She gave me one for the show. For some reason I have no photo of me wearing it. It was pink and lacy and matched my dress perfect! If you were at the show you saw me wearing it. Thank you again Hollie! I LOVE IT!

Michelle and Amanda are best friends. They both are adorable. They both work in the same spot. Michelle with her House of Vintage and Amanda is in the back of the house making cupcakes and goodies to wear and show off. Actually Amanda does so many things, I lost count. She is that creative. She has an Etsy Shop here. The girl is creatively busy all the time and she has oodles still to be explored. She is one smart creative cupcake!

Looky what Amanda is wearing! We traded it for cupcakes. You can tempt Amanda with trades at the show for cake. I love it. HAHA! Thank you! Thank you AMANDA for putting on the best show. My son loves and so do I, her Oreo cupcakes. If you passed up her cakes at the show. SHAME SHAME next time get one. I really liked this location she chose for this show. It was a little drive for me but not much. The Armory Art Center is a fabulous place to get your craft/art on. Take a visit to the website. They have summer art classes you can sign up for now. There was so much amazing light in the building I hardly even used my flash for these photos you just viewed. I hope we can come back next year. I really had so much fun.
