Altered Memory Scrap Book

anniescupboards 2 8:29 PM

This ADORABLE altered memory scrap book was gifted to me by my good friend Valorie. I must say I am so inspired to try one myself. I just love love love this. She made so many neat pockets and dandy little tags and pull out sheets. I am just floored with all that is going on in this book. I can not wait to fill it up. I just love the feel of this book as well. There is ribbon holding it together and I must say what a lovely way to display your "gifted" fabric ribbons. Oh and the sound it makes as you turn the pages and *hear* the crinkle as well as *feeling* it. Oh my such candy for the eyes and ears. Thank you so much Valorie. XOXO

These are a few of my favorite things.

Changing things just a tad.

anniescupboards Reply 10:40 AM
I am making a few changes on my Blog. I have noticed that my flipbook down way, way at the bottom of my posts seems to be making my page crash here and there. So I am doing away with the picture trail. Personally I like Flickr.com much better. They seem to be faster and more organized. Plus I don’t have those crashing issues. (not to mention I get no spam attacks when signing on)

SANTA is COMING!!

anniescupboards 1 3:30 PM

So Oh my Goodness can you tell Santa's helpers dropped off some gifts a little early? Some of my swaps have been coming in this week and I must say I find it very hard to wait until December 25th. Our swapping rules were that we would wait until that day. I think I am the one who made up that rule and now I can't figure out why? It's very hard to know that something is for you just wrapped up all pretty and waiting for you to tear open. WHERE did Marcie ever find that Charlie Brown Paper? <3
And please don't let me forget to ask Sheila about the Teletubbies?? (evil grin) Oh the feeling of ripping that luscious pretty paper. But carefully you could use that paper for some crafting later this year. Oh and I always love to save my tissue paper. It comes and goes so fast in the house and isn't it perfect for just making something feel a bit lush? I love the sound of tissue paper crinkling. I SWEAR I AM NOT PEEKING!! I can't wait! Thank you so much ladies. I too know how much you are waiting as well. I think I need to walk by my tree again. XOXO

Christmas Cookie Cutter Tags

anniescupboards Reply 12:53 PM
I wanted to have this great picture with lots of ways to show you how to make these neat little cookie cutter tags. Well.....My printer ran out of ink. I need ink. I have a pdf scan for you HERE! Now all I did was trace some of the metal cookie cutters on to card stock. I am sure you may even have some laying around. If you don't its ok Just use mine right here! What I am going to do is punch a hole in them and tie some ribbon on them and the package. I might even glue some fabric, buttons oh and rick rack.

Wrapping things up!

anniescupboards Reply 3:39 PM

I am done with all my wrapping. Until later this week I am sure. I have family gifts to wrap. I am getting all my last min Christmas cards and the last of my swap packages in the mail tomorrow. I went today to drop off some and let me say those lines are not pretty. So while I stand in them I am thankful I have my sidekick (phone) which has Internet access and I can visit a few of my favorite blogs. Yeah! I need to download some Christmas Carols in my ipod to block out all the grinches this year. Tis the SEASON to be "JOLLY". Yes thats a roll of brown paper that you see all the way to your right. Some things don't always get a bit of COLOR! hehe

Making gifts and packing them tight!

anniescupboards 1 4:08 PM

I am almost finished making all my Christmas gifts this year. I have been busy sewing and crafting and doll making! Oh my. I also had a few personal swaps and some private orders to do. Yeah. Nothing like a busy December week huh? I have to mail out my packages and I wish I could just some how get the gift bags of tissue paper carried by hand. I mean come on they are handmade gifts and they are of the most Highest Value. I have to wrap ALL of these gifts. The boxes are too cute and I just love the prints. I can't wait to wrap them. Oh fun fun. The 2 dolls here were custom orders.

Tradewinds Park

anniescupboards 1 5:48 PM

Hubby took me over to Tradewinds Park. It was a farmhouse back in the day with just acres of land. Its now a museum house. I promise to go back and take more pictures. There is lots to see over there. My Camera battery died after taking the picture of the peacock. You should see all the animals that are loose running around there. Hubby and I went around the house and there is a back trail and there was TONS of sheep wool and goats locks all over the ground so I picked some up and put it in my pocket. People must have thought I was strange.

Felt barrettes

anniescupboards Reply 5:39 PM

I was visiting a few blogs this morning and I went over to Angrychicken's blog and some few way blogs from her past I found her making these. (click here) I decided to give it a try myself. I have been looking for some store bought ones and never did I think I was going to be lucky enough to make my own. They are just cozies really that slip over your barrettes. I can't stop making these. What a cute stocking stuffer. You could just design them in so many ways. Such a Great idea!

Gingerbread House

anniescupboards 1 5:08 PM

Today was a yummy baking day. Ok. I didnt actually bake anything. I bought a small premade kit from my local grocery stores bakery dept. 6 pieces of gingerbread. SO why not. They gave me icing and I decided to use Betty Crockers icing. Its just thicker and can hold parts better. We stuck to our red and blue theme of course. The back door we didnt get a picture of but its just a mini chocolate bar. My son has this idea for a chimney so he worked on that as I built the house. He took a bunch of marshmellows and coated them all with icing. He then set them up in twos and covered each set in red sugar. It is the perfect touch for house don't you think? We had so much fun making it even tho I took over. HAHA! WE get to munch on it all day and thru the night.
