**updated after I posted** I got this above cute photo!!
On this top photo you can barely make out a little head next to the mama's breast. Yesterday when i got in from doing the groceries I noticed mama duck moving around and looking down so as I was putting my key in the door I turned and saw those 2 eggs HATCHED!! I could not make out any babies until this morning when I went to check. I tried to get photos. I did. Just not very good ones. They are playing hide and PEEK with me. haha. They are so cute!! SO TINY!
I got this blurry shot. I could have just stood there all morning watching them.

I have been sewing and sewing. New dolls are being worked on all weekend long. I am almost done. They shall all be in my Etsy shop for sale very soon. I will post here when I have finished them. My little shop is so sad and empty. It needs smiling faces!!
Happy Weekend to you all!!

Bird Watching of a different kind

anniescupboards 6 12:30 PM
More like baby duck protecting.

The mama duck on my front porch is still there nesting on her eggs. The other mama duck that came by with her babies still drops by every now and then. With less and less babies with her. I feel so sad. She only has 7 left. The other day I watched 3 hawks swoop down and snatch 2. By the time I made it out to the backyard (after panic fiddling with the locked sliding glass door) the 3rd one was swooping down and I ran out there waving my arms and it flew away. The hawks were grey and white. Usually I see them they are black and brown. I was so mad and upset. Then 2 days after that I was washing dishing and I witness a very large Stork in my backyard and he was guess what? Scooping up a baby duck and ate it whole. I was like WHAT? I banged on the glass and it flew away. But it came by 3 more times to try for another. Eventually it gave up cause I would not. I feel the same fate will happen to the others on the porch. Its natures horror show in my backyard. I don't watch those animal shows for a reason. Someone always gets eaten. Circle of life. I know. I know. I just don't need front row tickets. Eeekkk.

Valentines Pyrex Day

anniescupboards 1 1:01 PM

I was given Pyrex (not caring that I had to search for it myself.)
I was also given a ton of chocolate. I could spank hubby. I am trying not to indulge like that. Goodness I just finished off my thin mints girl scout cookies for breakfast the other day. What is he trying to do to me? (giggle) Hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day. And if your single. My friend said Happy Singles Independent Day.

Custom Woodsy Doll Houses

anniescupboards 1 12:55 PM
I had a little side project to do while I was prepping for the craft show last week. I just love the way these homes came out. I was so nervous about the orange and making sure I match everything with it. It was my first time with making a home that color. I love it. Turned out to be my favorite one.

Each one has a vanity table with mirror in their bedrooms. I like to always include a little something new every time I make these homes. It keeps its fun for me.

Retro Indie Market Craft Show

anniescupboards 11 8:08 AM
The show yesterday was amazing. Thank you all who came out to support us. Thank you for coming to see me. I had no idea so many people would be coming to the show just to see me and my dolls. I sold out of dolls by 1pm. I totally am so thankful. If you came to see me and I was already out of dolls. I am making more dolls. They will be in my Etsy shop for sale. I will make a special order one just for you too. Just send me an email! I will ship the dolly from my house to yours. I am trying to get into another craft show in April. If I don't get in there, the next show will I will be at will be Art Rock in West Palm Beach in May. Click here to see where its located.

I had no idea being in the newspaper would bring so many out. A few ladies traveled 2 hours to come see me. ME!! They wanted them "dolls they saw in the paper". I was shocked and floored and happy and smiling and crying with joy. Thank you Staci from Palm Beach Post. You are amazing. I also want to thank Michelle and Amanda for putting this wonderful show together. Those girls worked really hard. This was by far the largest venue I think I have worked at. All the hard work they put into it totally payed off. EVERYONE was saying how wonderful the place looked. Lots of ladies were wanting to see more of these types of shows. Some of them never been to an indie craft show. They wanted to know when the next one was happening. They want to come back. You girls did it. You totally rocked that place. Bravo!!

They were having a contest for best vintage display, best valentines display and best crafty display. I won best crafty. Oh the day could not have been any better. Seriously I was just a ball of emotions yesterday. My smile was kicked in so overtime. When I got home I will still smiling and could not stop even if my cheeks were so sore.

I will be making more dolls next time. I thought I made enough. You just never know what is going to sell at your craft shows. You never know who is going to fall in love with what. I heard this one lady saying "Everyone down stairs is showing off the dolls they bought from you". Other crafters were coming up to me saying "Lots of people have been looking for you and your dolls". I heard from the customers themselves. "ARE you the lady with the dolls that were in the paper"? STACI!!! Can I really say thank you enough? I have been searching for raggedy doll lovers in South Florida for so long. They found me. THEY FOUND ME! (gushing)

I purchased 2 Pyrex dishes!
This is Polly and Panda's Booth. (i made that cupcake banner)

PS. Octopus are really hot this year. They are all over. I have seen them starting last year. All over on t-shirts, stuffed animals, on hats and now necklaces.

Thanks for coming to the show. We totally LOVE that you came out to support us.
I will be back next year FOR SURE!

Springtime is coming

anniescupboards 6 7:00 AM
I made a few riding sticks. I was making these into stuffed animals and I messed a little part up on one of the bodies. I then got this awesome idea. So I went with it. I love the retro lambs on sticks. Anyone wanna race?
I am going to try to make one more.
This past weekend we had out Craft Pot Luck meet up. It's so fun to hang out with the girls. Amy is moving so that was our last craft party at her house. I totally said everyone could come here and party. We have room now. LOTS OF ROOM.
Since the craft show is happening soon. We were all busy. Even me. I actually got work done.

NO THIS IS NOT the mama duck from my front porch.
Yesterday my cat was freaking out. Back forth back forth. Room to room. I got up and found out why. I laughed so hard. There seemed to be a million little duckies running around on my back porch. They were running all over eating little bugs caught in spiderwebs and on the floor. They cleaned that patio up. It was so cute watching them. I have no idea where they came from or have been hiding out. I am still waiting for my little friend on the front porch. She is still there. Still snuggling with her eggs.

Cute!!
