Vintage Vera Scarf

I love a vintage Vera find. I am growing some collection.

Vintage Sheet finds for Tuesday

I keep finding suitcases. I am not complaining. I love it when I find them. I love the vintage ones. You can do so many things with them. All of these I am going to change/alter in some way. I will not touch the insides. They are perfect and in great shape. I have such a good idea for these. I can't wait to play.
I found this vintage lamp. Its brand new. Yet it is vintage. Its from the early 60's. The brackets are taped to the back and so are all the parts you need to hang this up. Except a chain. You will need a chain or some light rope. I am going to offer this for sale in my Etsy shop. I know someone who is decorating their kitchen in this decor would love to find this.
I found another Vintage Tupperware canister. I have this one already. I think in a smaller size.
I found this twin size vintage yellow sheet. Its going into my Etsy shop. So is the one below this yellow. This one is so pretty. Its a queen size flat sheet. Red and pink roses. Perfect too.
This is a yellow tablecloth. I bought it from my friend. She is moving and had a mini yard sale inside her house. I love that idea. Yard sale IN the house.

The vintage sheet above and below are both going into my Etsy shop.

The sheet set above is a twin size and so is the one below. Both going into my Etsy shop.
I found this rainbow sheet. Its fitted. ITS KING SIZE! My size just wrong pattern. Did you have this in the 80's like I did? Its so awesome. Rainbows are totally in again. Do they ever leave? Hopefully never. Off to Etsy this one is going too.
Something for me? YES! I found a vintage apron. I love the colors and style. I am still wearing it.

I found a single blue pillowcase and below 2 pillowcases.
I found 3 soft as ever pillowcases. The sun came out of course in full force and was blocking how true and colorful these actually are. One of the sides of the pillowcases was falling apart. I am so happy I know how to sew and have a sewing machine. I quickly sewed it up and now its ready for the wash. I am not selling any of the pillowcases. I am a pillowcase hog. I know. I was very very lucky to find all these sheets today. My poor Etsy shop is empty.

Phone case crazy

I created a monster in me. I quickly had to make another phone case. Just cause. I feel another one coming along. I also feel a contest coming. Could you use a phone case / camera case? If so come back and see when I am giving one away. I have a feeling it will be very soon. This week for sure. Tomorrow? Maybe.

I made a phone case.

I had to make myself a case for my phone. I have been using the same one I made 2 years ago. It is still fine to use. I am just tired of it. I wanted change. I also needed something for the gym too. I have an Iphone and I also have it in a hard shell case to keep it safe from my clumsy self. (also I want to point this out, my sons and hubby have the same phone as me and their screen is not as fresh and new looking as mine because I do keep it in a fabric case) I tried finding an arm strap case for the gym. They have them out there but you have to take your hard shell off your phone to put it in there. Seeing how I go to the gym almost every day I find this task annoying. On off, on off. Not to mention my hard shell is actually hard to take on and off. So I needed to make myself one. I think I put the loop on to low. I will test it tomorrow to see. If so I will make another one for the gym and use this for my purse.
The photo below. This is what I am not so sure about. The loop. The strap I can use on any case that I make. So I won't have to make another strap. I will have to test it to see if it all hangs properly when I use the weights. I am just afraid it will wobble when I so certain motions. I want it to stay still and close to my arm. I am really loving this case either way. Yellow is my new color at the moment so I really been trying to keep it near me.

I put Velcro on the belt to keep it in place. I ran out of white Velcro.

Vintage finds for Tuesday

I found this scalloped bowl at the thrift store. It says its from England. It looks and feels Pyrex(y). I love the flowers. They are so pretty. There are two smaller flower designs that match this on the back of the bowl. Pretty from all around.
I found the above twin size duvet cover. Its really more yellow than beige but the sun was not letting that show. Its so pretty. This is so soft. I want to snuggle with it. After a washing of course. ha. I have this in my Etsy shop already. And I also have the sheet below in my shop. It's a king size Noah's Ark flat sheet. I can not believe its a king size. Really. Not what I had in mind when I said I really wanted to find a king size sheet. I never find the king size sheets. Oh sure now I do. This would be a perfect back drop or table cloth or even cut it all up and make things from. There is so much sheet to play with. I love the 60's drawings.

I made a dress. DIY kind.

So I have been wanting to make my own D.I.Y. (do it yourself) dress for some time. I just needed some fabrics to do this. The other day I found all those jersey fabrics in all those colors at the thrift store. Perfect! I have a dress in my closet that I like. Its very comfy. Its a tank top dress but it flows. It's not tight. I love the way it feels. So I tried to mimic that. I have made clothing before. I am very familiar with certain areas but I am not a professional. I have never worked with stretchy fabric. Jersey knit fabric is stretchy. But not bad. I only cried tears a little bit and had to use the seam ripper just a few times (4). I was going to just make a skirt. Then that whole dress idea came into play after I made all the ruffles. So I went into my closet and dug out (who am I kidding I totally had this crammed in my dresser all in the corner not even folded) this old white tank top that I was no longer wearing. It shrunk and it's starting to be more of a belly shirt than a tank top. It was on its way to being donated then I realized it would make a perfect top. And look it does. I just sewed a ruffle on the tank top to match the skirt. I sewed the skirt onto the tank top. This was not as easy as I thought it was going to be. I would have rather made pleats (or attempted to try) than to do the gathering method like I did. I will know from this point on to keep playing. The fabric does has some weight to it. But not much. I am used to sewing with quilting fabrics and muslin. So this was something with more texture and weight. Something you don't consider when your not used to using those mediums. I am happy with how it came out. Flaws in all. All my seams actually match up. I love it when that happens. I just did not get the skirt on as even as I would have liked it. I keep redoing it but after a while I just learned to live with it. I even wore this pretty thing to the craft store yesterday. Then I got home. Took this photo and thought I should take one using my other camera. Walked into the kitchen to make myself something to drink and hubby was opening a bottle of cranberry gingerale and it exploded all over me. Priceless! I never washed any of the fabrics to begin with so now it is. I was lucky to not get any soda on the white part. the floor is still sticky. I hate finding those spots you missed. The bottom of the skirt is gray. I love gray with everything lately. White gray and purple are just meow for me! I am beyond obsessed with ruffles too. Really really got it bad for the ruffles.

Woodsy Peg Homes are in the Etsy Shop!

I have listed 4 Woodsy Doll Homes in my Etsy shop. I went searching for more people today and I found a Michael's Craft Store in an area I had no idea there was one. I found people. I also found 3 more houses. I am so excited to have found them. They are so hard to find and lately I have been able to. How wonderful. I love making them. They are so much fun to paint and decorate. I sold 2 of these houses over the weekend before I even got a chance to list them on Etsy. ( the pink ones) So I have been busy painting these latest 3 finds all pink. Ok not all pink. One of them is purple. Purple is a childhood favorite of mine. My bike used to have a big old white wicker flower plastic basket and a banana seat glittery and purple. Satin Shorts, purple. Poms for my roller skates, purple. I used to have everything in purple. I loved that color so much.
I still do.

3 of 6 Woodsy Peg doll House(s)

I have almost finished these. I need to varnish a few things and I need to finish painting a few things. Just touch up stuff. I really LOVE the color combos I have picked out for these homes. They are very eye catching. Each house will come with 3 sets of curtains.
I love the ovens!

This one comes with a fridge. Not all of them have a fridge. I was lucky to find the fridges at my local thrift store. They are actually tiny small boxes. I only found 2. I just glued a wood piece inside for a shelf and painted it. Also the bed was a thrift store find. Another small wood box that pulled open. I instantly knew what I was going to use them for once I found them. Now that I see them all together I am so happy with the results. They do look like fridges and a bed! Yipee! You can pull that draw open on the bed and put your secret things in there.
The pops of yellow make me SO HAPPY!

Panda's House! Ha! I love how adorable this combo came out. I can't believe I have to sell these.
It's ok. I have set aside one of these homes for me. I have not even painted or played with it yet. I am building that house in my mind the moment. And it looks FAB! If you are interested in grabbing one of these I am going to list them in my Etsy Shop once I have finished. I will tell you when this happens. It will be very soon.

Farmers Market in July

I am going to be visiting farmers markets in my area this summer. I have noticed a bunch of them have popped up here and there. Some are a drive to get to. It may be worth it. I am sick and tired of the yucky veggies and fruit in my grocery stores. I get so mad cause I go to buy Florida oranges and I don't see any from Florida in the grocery store. I see them from California and out of the USA. I live in Florida. Why can't I have Florida fruit in my local grocery stores? I am also tired of buying really pretty fruit and veggies that taste like nothing. Grocery stores seem to buy from farmers who just like to grow for color and size. I hate that. I really do. I want a meal. A really good meal. If my thumb was green, I would be planting and making my own little garden. I want to taste the food and enjoy the flavors. I visited this market today and It was really small but worth the trip. I got to taste all kind of goodies. I love tasting. You can't very well taste at the grocery store can you? They want you to taste their goods. They know what they have and are proud of it. You also get more than just fruits and veggies. You will find homemade dips and pickles and sauces. They had hummus here. Oh Yum! I love that. This guy makes everything from fresh ingredients and it was yummy. However I walked with garlic breath after visiting with him. But it was very tasty. There was homemade cookies. Homemade dog biscuits and treats. You must visit a local market by you. It will be worth the visit. You will be so happy. Sometimes the price is cheaper than the grocery store. You get to know the vendors the more you go. Tell your friends. Let them in on your good find. Help your local farmer. They need the support from you and your friends. Take turns throwing meals at each others homes. Make it an experiment dinner night with your friends and make something new with your fresh tasty picks. If you have questions about their items, ask them. They will tell you. They know all about it. They grew it. These were all organic farmers/vendors at this market. I do recommend making a list before you go with meal plans in mind. Now I want leek soup! Oh my.

Those are beets on the far right.

Look how amazing those carrots look. I bought some. I love carrots.
