I made a woodsy peg people doll cottage. There is something different about this house compared to the ones I have been making. Do you notice it right away? Well besides this is the first shabby one. The house itself is different. Not the inside. The roof. There is no chimney. I did not notice when I bought this house it was missing. I was going to return it and get another one but then hubby says why not go with and make something vintage. You love vintage. He is so right. Shabby Cottage came to mind.
I threw in pops of aqua.
We cant forget about the glass knobs. Ok so they are more pearl like. If I had a door I would put one on there too. I just love those crystal/glass nobs. Oh my gosh. I have not done the people yet. It started raining on me while taking these photos. I prefer to take my photos outside. It shows the true color of my creations. But when it rains, what can you do? This house is hubby's favorite. He loves the pops of pink I threw in there. He said its really POPPING for him. Yes!
I am searching for more homes! I currently have only 1. And that is my stash house for me. I am keeping that one. I still have no idea what I want my house colors to be. I am love the hot pink then I love the red and aqua combo and I totally could rock out the purple. I thought after all this play time I could just go back and choose something I did already painted and love. I have too many loves. I have to just narrow it down. Which is not easy. So can I tell you how many emails I had gotten about wanting pink houses for the woodsy people on Etsy? There was. Many of them. I was like eekkk. I had made 2 of them but they sold before they could even hit Etsy's door step. So...I went and made 3 really girly homes. They are on their way to my Etsy shop. I really adore the color and fabrics I have chosen. I must say the purple is my passion at the moment. I am really digging the pops of its purply goodness. I wanted to play with yellow. I did already last time. It is still screaming come play with me. The purple was my choice. I almost made it yellow and pink. Maybe that will be the next color combo? Each house comes with a pet. The left is a pink hamster. The middle is a kitty cat. The right is a panda. Ok I am gushing at these for a bit. Hard.

I have listed 4 Woodsy Doll Homes in my Etsy shop. I went searching for more people today and I found a Michael's Craft Store in an area I had no idea there was one. I found people. I also found 3 more houses. I am so excited to have found them. They are so hard to find and lately I have been able to. How wonderful. I love making them. They are so much fun to paint and decorate. I sold 2 of these houses over the weekend before I even got a chance to list them on Etsy. ( the pink ones) So I have been busy painting these latest 3 finds all pink. Ok not all pink. One of them is purple. Purple is a childhood favorite of mine. My bike used to have a big old white wicker flower plastic basket and a banana seat glittery and purple. Satin Shorts, purple. Poms for my roller skates, purple. I used to have everything in purple. I loved that color so much. I still do.

I have almost finished these. I need to varnish a few things and I need to finish painting a few things. Just touch up stuff. I really LOVE the color combos I have picked out for these homes. They are very eye catching. Each house will come with 3 sets of curtains.

This one comes with a fridge. Not all of them have a fridge. I was lucky to find the fridges at my local thrift store. They are actually tiny small boxes. I only found 2. I just glued a wood piece inside for a shelf and painted it. Also the bed was a thrift store find. Another small wood box that pulled open. I instantly knew what I was going to use them for once I found them. Now that I see them all together I am so happy with the results. They do look like fridges and a bed! Yipee! You can pull that draw open on the bed and put your secret things in there.

It's ok. I have set aside one of these homes for me. I have not even painted or played with it yet. I am building that house in my mind the moment. And it looks FAB! Count me in. I too am in love with yellow. I am all about finding and painting and using yellow this summer. Its so bright and happy. It matches with so many colors. I am still in the process of painting these. I have 4 started. I have 3 more to go. I am going to keep one of them. I have no idea which one. I will put 2 in my Etsy Shoppe. 4 will go with me on the craft show happening locally this Oct. I really want to make another yellow one. Just different colors. I need to play and see. Before I choose colors I do a search on Flickr with just colors and see how they look with each other. You can't imagine all the color exploding on Flickr. Look at this, this and this here. I like it when they use different colors of the same color. Look here. This look is called monochromatic. Then just pop in another color and it adds/makes a pretty detail. I may try this next. I just have to research colors.

I had to run to the store to get some more of this pink color. I also needed some more woodsy people. I know the store I usually visit for these items would not have one of the two items needed. Cause I bought all the woodsy people they had 2 days ago. Usually they take a few days (months)to restock. I was waiting 2 months for them to restock it before hand. I know some like to call them peg dolls. To be correct they are sold as game pieces. I gave them the name woodsy people cause I am creative (brilliant, haha) like that. When I hear peg dolls I think of these and these. I like mine to mimic these dolls. Remember this? I still want this item. Yes today right now. If I found this I would prolly buy it. I loved the people. If my memory is correct, they were all wood when they were first created. Then I think the heads were plastic and the body still wood and then another change making them all to plastic? That is why I call them woodsy people. Mine were wood. That is where my inspiration came from. Today I went way out of my area. It was worth the trip. Not only did I clean them out of their woodsy people. I found 3 more doll houses. How exciting for me and my love of creating them/selling/playing. These things are hard to find. I am going to make one up for a birthday gift to a little girl turning 3 this weekend.Peg Doll Houses
